This is not the case in Warband, as a player may assign heroes as vassals and convince rival lords to defect.Ī faction will be eliminated a few days after all of their territory has been conquered and all of their armies have been defeated. A player-created faction is regarded as a rebel faction, and the player, as the sole lord, is forced to protect and expand the entire kingdom. In the original game, a player who has created a faction cannot have lords at their service. The player can join a faction, start a rebellion, or create their own faction. For example, Prince Valdym the Bastard will never be found in a keep belonging to Kingdom of Vaegirs. Claimants will never be found in a town belonging to the faction for which they are the claimant. The claimants can be found in random town keeps, and you can ask a traveler for their location for 30 denars. They will never conquer a whole faction without the help of the player.Įach faction is distinguished by a different style of army some have excellent infantry, others excellent archers or cavalry, or a combination of these units.Įach faction has a monarch and his vassals, as well as a claimant to the throne who waits for someone (the player) to champion their cause. They are constantly at war, trying to take over each other's territory and fiefs. This opens up a huge part of the game where you can work on diplomacy with other factions, raising your influence to pass policies, there’s a lot involved. There are five factions in Mount&Blade, while Warband added a sixth. Once you have completed this final part of the story quest, your Kingdom will officially be founded. The objectives are both nearly identical regardless of the side chosen. More Renown is received from large-scale battles against multiple enemy generals. You must reach level 3, you do this by getting Renown. A level 3 Clan is easy enough, just long. Go from village to village, check Taverns in cities for special units or take on Hideouts with just 8 soldiers in your party and capture the enemy as troops at the end. Once the Dragon Banner is created you will receive another quest that requires you to get 100 Soldiers, a level 3 clan, and your own settlement.

Whether you decide to side with Istiana or Arzagos, the path to forming your own Kingdom is the same. Once you have all 3 pieces of the Dragon Banner, you have a decision to make. This involves some basic quests where you hunt down some enemy strongholds, killing bandits and the like along the way. Once you have found the Nobles you will be given a few tasks to find the location of each piece of the Dragon Banner. You must first locate the 10 Nobles as part of the main story quest.
